 The
repute of Moneglia deservedly shows even in its name,
the Romans having already cherished this jewel embedded
in one of the most pleasant sandy bays of the whole

Sheltered by one of the most beautiful and intimate bays
of the Ligurian Levante, Moneglia cherishes the
enchantment of the ancient treasures of its lively past.
The castles of Villafranca and Monleone narrate the epic
of Genoa’s battles, while a network of churches and
oratories composes an itinerary through history and
identity, embellished by the masterpieces of artists and
painters. Scents and colours play an intriguing symphony
amidst sea, sky and woods, the sparkling of nature

The old town is cut into two parts from a medieval
“carruggio” (the Ligurian name for street), which is now
the idea place to stroll around among boutiques and
typical shops, with the possibility to visit the two
historical churches of the town: San Giorgio, dating
back to 1396 but renovated at the beginning of the 18th
